De Messines, est décédé le 03 mai 2015 au CISSSO de Maniwaki, à l’âge de 56 ans.

Né et grandi à Maniwaki, Dan a voyagé et travaillé en Alberta et à Little Cornwallis Island (Territoires du Nordouest), avant son retour au collège. Il a obtenu son diplôme bilingue en radiologie au Collège Cambrian à Sudbury, ON en 1986. Il a travaillé à l’Hôpital Général d’Ottawa jusqu’en 1990, jusqu’à ce que le désir pour l’aventure le transporte à Tabuk et Riyad en Arabie Saoudite. Il y a travaillé durant quatre ans comme technologue en radiologie après la guerre du Golfe. Lors de son retour dans la région de Maniwaki en 1994, il a travaillé au deux hôpitaux CSSSG et CSSSVG (Gatineau et Maniwaki).  Il a œuvré comme membre volontaire pour la communauté et pour la fondation du CSSSVG durant cinq ans. Il était un des organisateurs principal pour le lancement du sport de Curling de Maniwaki dont il a œuvré afin d’accroître l’intérêt et amasser les fonds. Il a ouvré à la présidence durant cinq ans pour le Club de Curling Vallée de la Gatineau. Dan était un grand supporteur de notre héritage militaire dont il fut membre exécutif de la Légion Royale Canadienne Local 187 pour 18 ans et comme président durant quatre ans et au moment de son décès comme vice-président.

Parents et amis manqueront sa joie de vivre, son beau sourire et son amour pour la nature, spécialement lors de ses voyages au Buckshot Fishing Club. Nous serons réconfortés par les souvenirs de son respect et son dévouement à tous les êtres vivants, en particulier pour le bien-être des enfants.

Il était le fils de Jeannine Thibault et de feu James Logue.

Outre sa mère il laisse dans le deuil son frère Patrick (Debbie Gallagher), sa sœur Johanne (Norm Larson), sa nièce Elysia Larson (Ben Little), son neveu Jonathan Larson, ses tantes Marjorie Logue O’Leary et Claudette Thibault, son oncle Billie Logue, ainsi que plusieurs cousins, cousines et ami(e)s.

Le service religieux aura lieu le samedi 09 mai 2015 à 11h en l’église de St-Patrick de Maniwaki, suivi de l’incinération.

Of Messines, passed away May 03, 2015, at the CISSSO Maniwaki Hospital, at the age of 56.

Born and raised in Maniwaki, Dan travelled and worked in Alberta and Little Cornwallis Island (Northwest Territories), before returning to college. He obtained his bilingual Radiography Diploma from Cambrian College in Sudbury, Ontario, in 1986. He worked at the Ottawa General Hospital until 1990, when the desire for further adventure led him to Tabuk and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. He worked there for four years as a radiology technologist after the Gulf War. When he returned to the Maniwaki area in 1994, he worked at both the CSSSG and CSSSVG (Gatineau and Maniwaki Hospitals). He dedicated himself to volunteer community work and served as a board member of the CSSSVG for five years. He was instrumental in launching the sport of curling in Maniwaki, and spent many years driving interest and fundraising, including serving five years as president of the Club de Curling Vallée de la Gatineau. Dan was a proud supporter of our military heritage and served 18 years as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 187 executive, including four years as president. He was serving as vice-president at the time of his death.

Family and friends will miss his love of laughter, his unparalleled wit and his easy smile, and his love of nature, especially the times he enjoyed at his beloved Buckshot Fishing Club. We will be comforted by the memories of his respect and devotion to all living things, especially to the well-being of children.

Dear son of Jeannine Thibault and the late James Logue. Loving brother of Patrick (Debbie Gallagher) and Johanne (Norm Larson). Dear uncle of Elysia Larson (Ben Little) and Jonathan Larson. Also survived by his aunts; Marjorie Logue O’Leary and Claudette Thibault, his uncle Billie Logue, many cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be celebrated at the St-Patrick’s Church of Maniwaki Saturday May 09,   2015, at 11 am. Followed by cremation.
