It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michelle Dumont-Cooko, a beloved daughter, mother, aunt, sister, and friend. Michelle found eternal rest in Kitigan Zibi, December 5, 2025, at the age of 34.
Born and raised in the community, Michelle lived a life surrounded by love and will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

She will be forever remembered by her daughter, Trinity; her devoted parents, Sydney Cooko and Denise Dumont; her sisters and brothers: Myra (Tyler), Adam (Shannon), and Sam (Agnes). She also leaves behind many cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.

A gathering to remember Michelle’s life will be held at McConnery’s Funeral Home, located at 206 Cartier Street in Maniwaki, starting Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation continuing until Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 10:45 a.m. A religious service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Holy Rosary Church of Maniwaki. The interment will take place at the Kitigan Zibi Cemetery, followed by a feast at the Kitigan Zibi Community Hall.
